At Mosaic, we conduct funded research based on projects supported by public or non-profit organizations. These projects advance knowledge on innovation, creativity, and collaboration. These initiatives enable the co-creation of knowledge with partners from academia, industry, and the community, for the public good.

Ongoing Research

SSHRC Knowledge (CRSH Savoir): Comparative Analysis of Transformations in Creative Activities by Artificial Intelligence Technologies – Adoption, Use, and Innovation Strategies (2024–2026).

This project examines the dynamics of producing, adopting, and using AI technologies in creative activities. It aims to analyze creative processes within artistic organizations and cultural enterprises across multiple domains. Using mixed research methods, including qualitative case studies and network analysis, the team conducted a comparative analysis of cases from the circus arts, video games, visual and digital arts, and immersive media.

Past research

4POINT0 Mobility (2022–2024)

This study aims to conduct an in-depth analysis of how transportation hubs can serve as the core of innovation ecosystems related to mobility issues. Specifically, it will examine how digital technologies advance Canadian capabilities in next-generation mobility products and services, whether in the aerospace industry, land transportation, and urban development.

4POINT0 Health (2019–2024)

The Healthcare Ecosystem and the Well-being of Older Adults: Understanding and Implementing Best practices within a local economy.

FRQSC – “Cultural Entrepreneurship and Creation in the Face of Digital Challenges and Opportunities: An Embedded Approach to Analyzing Best Practices and Reconfigurations of Value Chains in Quebec (2017–2020)”.

In response to the disruption caused by digital technologies in cultural ecosystems, we are witnessing the reconfiguration of actors’ roles, the blurring of disciplinary boundaries, and the emergence of new creative and business practices. This action- research project falls under Axis 3: Entrepreneurial Spirit and Culture in the Digital Age. The project aims to understand and explain the practices of creation, production, and valorization practices of cultural works and goods that are emerging in the digital era across the music, visual and media arts, and performing arts sectors, in six regions of Quebec.

SSHRC – “Partnership for the Experimentation and Comparative Analysis of Best Practices in the Management of Organizations Acting as Intermediaries for Open Innovation in Health (2020–2023)”.

The goal of this partnership is to improve our understanding of the organizational models, governance mechanisms, and performance conditions of organizations acting as intermediaries for open innovation in health.
