Co‑design and Action Research
Co‑design is a collaborative and creative approach that enables organizations to work alongside their stakeholders and users to develop innovative solutions to complex challenges.
Mosaic team-led workshops encourage collective exploration, the integration of diverse perspectives, and the rapid transformation of ideas into concrete initiatives. Participants also develop new collective habits: they learn to share and combine knowledge, as well as experiment with new approaches together. Participants leave with enhanced creative skills and design tools that they can apply to their everyday work.
Examples of past co‑design experiences
Passenger Experience — Montréal Airport (2024):
A workshop to co‑design and lead a session that explores the evolving needs and expectations of different passenger types throughout their journey. This participatory method creates concrete, personalized solutions that improve the comfort, flow, and satisfaction of airport users.
Strategic Co‑design Workshop — IVADO (2025):
In May 2025, Mosaic co-led a full-day co-design event titled “Accelerating AI in Action for Greater Impact!” Participants reflected on current practices, shared aspirations, identified concrete improvement opportunities, and co‑constructed high‑potential future initiatives.
Co‑design Session — AI in Health Ecosystems (2022):
As part of an SSHRC Connection grant project, an interdisciplinary co‑design session brought together innovation communities from the health, AI, management, and innovation sectors. Over the course of two days, participants engaged in interactive presentations, networking, and collaborative workshops to co‑design concrete solutions to the challenges facing health‑AI ecosystem companies in Montréal.
